Dear FM3 and FM2 Mexico Visa Applicants:
The Mexican Consulates in the U.S.A. And some parts of the world Effective August 1, 2010, do not
issue NOR renew the FM3 and FM2 VISAS anymore. This change started after May 1, 2010, when
the FM3 and FM2 VISA booklets were discontinued and replaced by FM3 and FM2 VISA ID Card Type.
INSTEAD the Mexican Consulates in U.S.A. And some parts of the world will ONLY pre approve the
FM3 and FM2 VISA applications, if your request it is approved then the Mexican Consulates will
take the FM3 or FM2 VISA FEE PAYMENT AND issue a Temporarily Visa Sticker in your Passport which
must be exchange for the actual FM3 or FM2 Visa upon to your arrival to Mexico. They will give
you only 30 days to exchange it, if you do not do it ON TIME you may not be eligible for the FM3
or FM2 VISA STATUS.
If you are a U.S. Citizen, you do not need to get pre approve by the Mexican Consulate in U.S.A.
You have the option to apply direct in Mexico, you will need to obtain an FMM TOURIST VISA
FORM at any Mexico port or entry or airports then exchange it while you are in Mexico. The FMM
FORM it is granted for 180 days you have all this time to exchange it for the FM3 or FM2. In
addition to the FMM VISA FORM to obtain the FM3 or FM2 you will need the following:

669.00, PESOS
- FM3 FEE 1,294.00, PESOS, FM2 FEE 2,800.00, PESOS
- Five photographs (2.5X3 cm), 3 front and 2 right profile white background with forehead and
ears uncovered, and without earrings or eyeglasses, black ... and white or color are accepted
must be in matte finish. Instant glossy photographs are not accepted
