Amigos extranjeros y usuarios del INM: En los últimos días el INM ha recibido diversas consultas de parte de estadounidenses residentes en México como Inmigrados, señalando que les han informado que tienen hasta el 30 de julio de 2010 para hacer el cambio de su FM2 tipo libreta por la nueva credencial para Inmigrado, con el riesgo de perder su estatus si no lo realizan a tiempo. Translation: Dear Foreigners friends and users of the INM: For the past days the INM has received several inquiries from U.S. Citizens permanent residents (FM2 booklet holders) addressing that they being informed that they have until July 30th to change their permanent FM2 booklet to the new permanent residency FM2 ID card, with the risk of loosing their immigration status if they do no change it on time. Se les comunica que no existe una fecha límite para que los extranjeros con calidad de Inmigrado cambien su libreta FM2 por la nueva credencial para Inmigrado. Este cambio es absolutamente voluntario y sólo es obligatorio si la FM2 es extraviada o está muy deteriorada. Translation: We would like to inform you that does not exist any set date for the permanent residency FM2 booklet holders to exchange it for the new permanent residency FM2 ID CARD. THIS NEW FMM MULTIPLE MIGRATORY FORM BECAME EFFECTIVE MAY 1,2010, WHICH SUBSTITUTES THE OLD FMT AND FMN FORMS. THE FMM CAN BE OBTAINED FOR TOURISM AND BUSINESS AND CAN BE GRANTED 180 DAY FOR BOTH. Nationalities eligible for an FMM MULTIPLE MIGRATORY FORM; Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, *Hong Kong,* Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta Monaco, Norway New, Zealand, Poland Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Uruguay, United States of America. * Chinese citizens with passports issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region* Note: If your nationality does not appear in the above list you need to apply for A VISA in the nearest Mexican Consulate where you reside then you can apply for the FMM.
Requirements to obtain an FMM MULTIPLE MIGRATORY FORM:
- Must be present
- Valid Passport
- Visa fee about $22,00, U.S. Payable to any Mexican bank,
the immigration officer at the port of entry will indicate you the closest bank usually is in the same building.

NOTE: with the purpose of facilitating and promoting travel to Mexico, effective May 1st, 2010: Any foreign visitors who travel to Mexico as tourists, business, or in transit to another country will not require a Mexican visa, regardless of their country of citizenship, as long as they have a valid passport and a valid US visa (which must be shown to Mexican Immigration authorities at the Port of Entry, and will only need to obtain an FMM form on the spot) if you are flying into Mexico the fee of $22.00, U.S. for this form will be included in the airfare ticket, if you enter by land you will need to pay the $22.00, fee. If your visit is less then 7 days when traveling by land as a tourist the form is free, some restrictions may apply.
